Margaret's Spoons

Help Margaret get through the week, and meet up with her crush, Ivan.

Margaret's Spoons is a short otome that deals with spoon theory. You are God (nice one!), and Margaret needs your help to manage her time. She has plenty of boring, adult responsibilities, and not a lot of motivation to do them. Her school friend, Ivan, is back in town, and she'd really like to see him.

Who's who

Nina

Nina is Margaret's friend and workmate. She never shies away from saying what's on her mind.

Ivan

Ivan used to be close with Margaret back in high school. He moved back to town recently, but has been hard to pin down.

Nigel

Nigel is Margaret's boss. The consensus in the office is that he was promoted beyond his competence level.

Margaret's mum

Margaret's mum means well. Probably. Although Margaret's parents are still together, they have a relationship no one aspires to.

Patti

Patti is the owner of Passionate Patt-TEA, the local bubble tea shop. She sure is passionate, but not necessarily about tea.

Cats

There are cats.

This project was originally intended for the NOKIA 3310 JAM 7, and uses some of the resources. It respects the 2-colour, 84x48 px design restrictions. However, since it wasn't submitted to the game jam, changes were made to make it more playable, including adding mouse control and game menus that do not respect the 84x48 px resolution.

SPOILERS

- Skipping showering will make Margaret shower automatically the next day.
- Skipping dinner will make Margaret eat automatically the next day.
- Taking 2 days off work in a row will get Margaret fired.
- For the best chance with Ivan, send Margaret to work on Tues and Fri and get pep talked by Nina.
